Pool Heat Pumps in the Algarve

Three models cover everything from a small courtyard pool to a large hotel installation.

The Ottimo is the one we fit where space is tight. It discharges air vertically rather than horizontally, so it sits closer to walls and boundaries than a conventional unit. That matters on the narrower pool surrounds we see regularly in villas around Albufeira, Carvoeiro and Silves. Three modes let the owner balance output and noise. At its quietest, it runs at 19 dB at 10 metres.

The Master Inverter is what we install most often. It covers the widest range of residential pool sizes in the Polytropic line and runs quietly enough that neighbours are unlikely to notice it. Noise levels are independently certified by the CTTM laboratory in France. For pools that are used year-round in the Algarve, this is the unit we are most comfortable putting our name behind.

The RAK Inverter is built for volume. Large private pools, hotel pools, communal installations. Up to 15 RAK units can run off a single controller, so the system scales to whatever the pool demands. Calendar programming and time-band scheduling mean heating periods can follow occupancy patterns, which matters for rental villas and hospitality properties where the pool sits empty midweek.

Getting this right matters more than which model goes in. A pool's heating requirement depends on its volume, but also on how much wind it catches, whether it has a cover, how much direct sun it gets, and what temperature the owner actually wants. A unit that looks right on paper can underperform badly if these factors are not accounted for.

We use Polytropic's sizing software to model heat loss for each pool individually. That is why we visit before quoting.
