Swim Jets for Pools in the Algarve
We now supply EVAstream counter-current swim systems for pools across the Algarve. EVA Optic is a Dutch manufacturer that builds swim machines with a turbine-driven current powerful enough for genuine training, not just resistance. The current is wide, even, and lifts the swimmer into a natural position automatically.
Two product lines are available: built-in systems for new pools and refurbishments, and the wireless EVAstream Move for existing pools.
EVAstream Built-In
The built-in EVAstream sits in a niche in the pool wall. When the pool is not in use, only a cover plate is visible. The system connects to mains power and is specified during construction or as part of a pool refurbishment.
Six models are available, from the single-turbine EVAstream 175 for recreational swimmers through to the dual-turbine EVAstream 550 for professional-level training. The right model depends on who is using the pool and what they want from it. We help with that selection. All built-in models are controllable via the EVA Web app.
EVAstream Move
The EVAstream Move is a wireless, battery-powered swim machine that drops into an existing pool with no installation, no cables and no structural work. One person can move it into position.
Two models are available: the Move 225 for recreational swimmers and the Move 275 for experienced swimmers. The unit arrives fully assembled and is controlled via the EVA Web app. The EVAstream Move won the Red Dot Design Award in 2025.
The Move is well suited to rental properties where the unit should be unobtrusive when not in use, and to pool owners who want a training capability without permanent modifications to the pool.
Why We Chose EVAstream
Most counter-current systems on the market use jet nozzles that produce a narrow, turbulent stream. The swimmer fights the water rather than moving through it. EVAstream uses a turbine that generates a wide, laminar current. The difference is the swimming position: the body stays flat and stable rather than being pushed downward or sideways.
We looked at several swim jet systems before adding EVAstream to our range. The build quality, the current width and the fact that it works for genuine swimming rather than just aqua jogging made the decision straightforward.
Supply and Installation
The built-in EVAstream is specified alongside a new build or pool refurbishment. We work with the pool builder to position the niche correctly and handle the electrical connection.
The EVAstream Move requires no installation. We deliver it, set up the app, and walk the owner through the controls.
