Automatic Pool Covers in the Algarve
We supply and install automatic pool covers across the Algarve, working exclusively with PS Cover, a Spanish manufacturer based near Alicante with 40 years of experience. All PS Cover covers are NF P90-308 certified, the most stringent standard in Europe for pool cover safety and quality.
A well-specified cover holds heat in the water overnight, raises water temperature by several degrees, reduces evaporation by up to 90% and adds a safety barrier when the pool is unattended.
TERRA Above-Ground Covers
The TERRA range fits onto the pool surround without excavation, structural work or modifications. Two models are available: a standard electric version and a fully solar-powered version.
The roller is housed in supports fixed to the pool edge, finished in high-resistance stainless steel or lacquered aluminium and available in a range of colours to suit the pool surroundings.
TERRA
The standard TERRA model is operated by remote control and powered by a low-voltage motor that runs quietly and safely. The hose reel is made of 20-micron anodised aluminium to prevent corrosion. Suited to pools with mains electricity nearby, where simplicity and aesthetics are the priority.
TERRA Solar
TERRA Solar is the most sustainable cover in the PS Cover range. The motor is powered entirely by solar energy via a panel mounted on one of the supports, which means no excavation for cables, no electrical installation and no running costs. Installation is completed in a single day.
PACIFIC Submerged Covers
PACIFIC submerged covers are designed for those who want the cover hidden completely when not in use. The roller is concealed within the pool structure itself, leaving the pool surround clear.
PS Cover offers four PACIFIC models. Each one suits a different installation context.
PACIFIC DECK
The roller sits inside a construction compartment built into the pool floor or forming a step or bench. The compartment is covered by a panel that can be finished with the same tiling or coating as the rest of the pool, so the cover remains visually invisible when retracted.
PACIFIC TOP
The roller is housed in a compartment with a grating top, available in Iroko hardwood or composite. PS Cover sources its Iroko from sustainable, controlled forests. Three configurations are available: TOP 1 with the compartment forming the first step of an access ladder, TOP 2 with the compartment used as a submerged bench, and TOP 3 with the compartment recessed into the pool floor.
PACIFIC CAVE
The roller is hidden inside the pool wall itself, preserving the full swimming area of the pool. A practical option for pools where every metre of swim space matters.
PACIFIC DUO
A submerged cover that requires no construction work. The roller sits in a three-beam compartment covered with two finishable panels, suitable for pools where excavation or significant building work is not desirable.
Slat Options
PS Cover slats are 17mm thick and 75mm wide, giving them stronger buoyancy and a flatter profile than narrower slats common on the market. The design includes water-circulation chambers that prevent algae growth, and all slats carry the highest hail-resistance certification from the VKF Institute.
PVC Slats
Opaque PVC slats block light entirely, which inhibits algae growth and keeps the pool cleaner between visits. Available in five colours: white, sand, blue sky, grey and dark grey. Weight 4.3 kg per square metre.
Polycarbonate Slats
Solar polycarbonate slats let sunlight through to heat the water beneath, raising the pool temperature by 4 to 6 degrees. Available in four solar finishes: clear, blue, silver and bronze. Weight 3.5 kg per square metre.
Supply and Installation
We measure each pool individually and provide a written specification before any order is placed. PS Cover manufactures every cover to order in Spain. Above-ground TERRA models can be installed in a single day. Submerged PACIFIC systems can be installed in any pool, new build or existing, subject to a site visit to confirm what the installation requires.
