Salt Chlorinators for Pools in the Algarve

Salt Chlorinators for Pools in the Algarve

We have supplied and installed salt chlorinators in the Algarve since 2008, working with Sugar Valley, a Spanish manufacturer whose chlorinators have proved reliable across hundreds of installations in the region.

Sugar Valley salt chlorinators offer an advanced and eco-friendly solution for automatic pool water treatment. Using salt electrolysis technology, these systems convert dissolved salt into natural chlorine, ensuring continuous and effective water disinfection without traditional chemical dosing.

How It Works

Designed for performance and convenience, Sugar Valley systems automatically regulate chlorine production. This results in cleaner, clearer water and a more comfortable swimming experience.

High-quality components such as titanium electrolysis cells and smart control options provide long-lasting reliability, energy efficiency, and integration into modern pool installations.

The Feel of the Water

A salt-chlorinated pool feels different to one dosed with chemical chlorine. The water is softer on the skin, and the chlorine smell most people associate with public pools is absent.

The reason is salinity. Human tissue contains 9,000 parts per million of salt. A pool equipped with a salt chlorinator runs at around 4,000 ppm, roughly the same as a tear drop. Sea water, for comparison, sits at 35,000 ppm. Because the salinity in the pool is much closer to that of human tissue than a traditionally chlorinated pool, the water feels softer and more comfortable. The system also helps to eliminate red eye and skin irritations.

Anyone who swims in a salt pool will tell you how silky the water feels.

Supply and Installation

A pool currently dosed by hand can be converted in a single visit, with no changes to existing filtration or pipework. We handle the full installation: cell, control unit and pH dosing if needed. Once running, the system largely looks after itself. We check the cell and recalibrate sensors on each of our regular maintenance visits.
